Cette définition se limite aux inscriptions minimales à porter sur un équipement pour permettre son identification et faciliter la gestion des matériels et leur suivi technique en utilisation. Les inscriptions supplémentaires qui pourraient être prescrites dans certains cas, suivant spécification particulière, doivent être limitées au minimum nécessaire.
