Le présent document spécifie les caractéristiques des écrous hexagonaux ordinaires, de hauteur réduite et à surplats réduits, à filetage ISO M ou ISO MJ, pour constructions aéronautiques. La norme européenne EN 2923 spécifie un écrou similaire à filetage ISO MJ, en acier résistant à la corrosion E Z 6 NCT 25, argenté, de classification 600 MPa (à température ambiante) / 425 °C. Le présent document recommande, chaque fois que l'interchangeabilité peut être conservée, l'utilisation préférentielle des écrous correspondants définis par EN 2923.
