La présente norme, par l'intermédiaire de définitions, schémas, classification, apporte un certain nombre de précisions concernant la façade légère en général et les différents types de façades légères que l'on peut rencontrer, indépendamment des technologies utilisées pour les réaliser. L'élément essentiel pris en compte est la position attribuée aux ouvrages de façades légères par rapport : - au nez d'un plancher, - aux ouvrages verticaux de structure d'une construction.
