Le présent document spécifie une méthode de calcul de la propagation du bruit dans l'environnement extérieur applicable aux infrastructures de transports terrestres et aux installations industrielles. Dans le cas des infrastructures de transport, la méthode peut être appliquée par exemple pour : réaliser les études de l'impact acoustique des infrastructures nouvelles ou des modifications d'infrastructures existantes ; le dimensionnement des protections acoustiques (écran acoustique, buttes de terre) ; des cartes de bruit au voisinage des infrastructures conformes au type 2 (façades) ou au type 3 (isophones) définis dans la norme NF S 31-130.
