Le présent document a pour objet de définir les fonctionnalités et les caractéristiques des répétiteurs sonores ou tactiles à l’usage des personnes déficientes visuelles. Il spécifie les interactions des répétiteurs sonores avec les signaux lumineux R12, ainsi que R12m et R12pps qui leurs sont associés, de sorte que ces signaux lumineux ainsi sonorisés bénéficient d'une surveillance commune de bon fonctionnement. Il donne également quelques spécifications pour les répétiteurs tactiles. Le présent document ne traite pas de l’implantation et de l’installation de ces systèmes. Des compléments sont apportés dans les séries NF P99-100 et NF P99-200.
