La norme NF T60-133 décrit une méthode de détermination directe de l'acidité et de l'alcalinité libres des graisses lubrifiantes essentiellement constituées par une huile minérale et des savons de métaux alcalins et alcalino-terreux. Elle ne s'applique pas aux graisses renfermant des bases faibles dérivant de métaux comme le magnésium, le zinc, l'aluminium, le plomb, le fer qui sont déplacées par la potasse.
