Il décrit une technique de recherche et d'identification bactériologique des bactéries du genre Brucella, autres que B. ovis et B. canis dans les prélèvements d'animaux des espèces domestiques et sauvages, de ruminants, équidés, suidés, camélidés, carnivores et autres espèces animales sensibles. La technique de recherche utilisée est une technique d'isolement sur milieu gélosé solide. Les techniques d'identification décrites permettent une identification présomptive des bactéries du genre Brucella, appartenant aux espèces B. abortus, B. melitensis, B. neotomae et B. suis.
