La présente méthode de détermination a été élaborée par la CGd'UMA pour répondre à la directive 89/437/CEE du 20 juin 1989 (JOCE du 22 juilllet 1989) qui limite la teneur en acide D3 hydroxybutyrique à 10 milligrammes par kilogramme de matière sèche d'ovoproduit non modifié estimé par le D3-hydroxybutyrique (chapitre VI-Spécifications analytiques).
