Cette norme fournit des méthodes générales pour la construction de plans d'échantillonnage pour le contrôle statistique de réception par comptage de la proportion d'individus non conformes ou du nombre moyen de non-conformités par unité. Les plans qui y sont définis sont conçus soit pour le contrôle d'un lot unique (pour un effectif d'échantillon au plus égal à 10 % ou 15 % de l'effectif du lot), soit pour le contrôle d'une série de lots en provenance d'un même fournisseur, et sont à utiliser lorsque l'emploi des plans d'échantillonnage figurant dans la norme NF X 06-022 est délicat (contrôle d'un lot unique ou d'une petite série de lots ; fournisseur et client désirant l'un et l'autre une protection donnée ; effectif maximal de l'échantillon à prélever fixé à l'avance).
