Il concerne les articles culinaires métalliques neufs à usage domestique, tels que casseroles, faitouts, braisières, sauteuses, poêles, etc., dont le diamètre extérieur ou la plus grande dimension horizontale du corps est compris entre 100 mm et 360 mm. Il ne s'applique pas aux appareils sous pression, aux cafetières, aux bouilloires faisant l'objet d'autres normes spécifiques ou aux articles destinés spécifiquement aux plaques de cuissons à induction.
