Le présent document décrit un protocole de caractérisation des habitats littoraux des plans d'eau selon leur nature, leur diversité et leur répartition spatiale. Il décrit en premier lieu le contexte d'application et définit les objectifs de la méthode ainsi que la terminologie employée. Il présente ensuite les exigences en termes de matériel, de description des observations de terrain et de cartographie de ces observations dans un Système d'Information Géographique (SIG), ainsi que le format de restitution attendu.
