Ce fascicule de documentation prend place dans l'ensemble des documents normatifs français de catalogage s'appuyant sur les ISBD de l'IFLA. Il expose les règles relatives à la description phonographique des phonogrammes et des composants sonores des vidéogrammes, en précisant un ordre pour les éléments de la description et en en codifiant la ponctuation. Il est illustré de nombreux exemples et propose, en annexe, une description phonographique minimale destinée à des usages spécifiques.
