La présente norme s'adresse principalement aux fabricants de pièces métalliques découpées et à leurs donneurs d'ordres. Elle définit trois classes de bavure en fonction de leur hauteur et donne une méthode de mesurage de cette hauteur. La présente norme a pour but de définir la hauteur maximale admissible des bavures, des pièces métalliques découpées à l'aide d'un outil de découpage travaillant normalement à la surface découpée. Elle donne également une méthode de mesurage de la hauteur de bavure.
