Le présent document spécifie une procédure permettant de déterminer le comportement d'expansion ou de contraction hydrique des matériaux pour bâtiments en fonction de leur teneur en humidité. Il s'applique aux matériaux hygroscopiques minéraux poreux. Il s'applique lorsque l'état du matériau permet d'admettre que les processus d'expansion et de contraction sont réversibles, mais non pas dans les états donnant lieu à des processus irréversibles tels qu'une contraction après production ou séchage initial du matériau.
