Ce document spécifie les méthodes de mesure pour les courants continus ou les courants alternatifs, de forme sinusoïdale ou non sinusoïdale qui peuvent traverser le corps humain et pour les courants qui peuvent circuler dans un conducteur de protection. Il donne, à titre d'information, des éléments pour le choix des limites de courant, basés sur les travaux antérieurs de différents comités de la CEI. Il explique également, en introduction, pour quelles raisons le terme plus général "courant de fuite" n'est pas utilisé ici.
