La présente norme constitue un panorama des tolérances de filetages ISO métriques à filet triangulaire, pour des diamètres de 1 à 355 mm. Elle s'applique à l'ensemble des filetages métriques M de la norme NF E 03-013. Elle ne s'applique pas aux filetages de diamètres inférieurs à 1, mm pour usages généraux et de diamètres de 1 mm à 1,4 mm pour emploi dans l'industrie horlogère qui sont appelés filetages miniatures S et qui font l'objet d'une normalisation particulière.
