Il traite des chargements aérodynamiques et de la résistance à l'avancement, tandis que la NF EN 14067-6 traite de l'évaluation des vents traversiers. Il fait référence au matériel roulant et à l'infrastructure. Il ne s'applique pas aux wagons. Il s'applique à l'exploitation ferroviaire avec un gabarit GA, GB et GC conformément à la NF EN 15273. L'approche méthodologique des procédures d'essai présentées peut être adaptée à un gabarit différent.
