Ce document s'applique aux dispositifs de commande électrique automatiques utilisés essentiellement dans ou avec du matériel électrodomestique et analogue avec une tension assignée ne dépassant pas 660 V et un courant assigné ne dépassant pas 63 A. Ce document entre dans le champ d'application de la Directive Basse Tension n° 2006/95/CE du 12/12/2006 et de la Directive "Compatibilité Électromagnétique" 89/336/CEE du 03/05/89 modifiée par 92/31/CEE du 28/04/92 et par 93/68/CEE du 22/07/93.
