Le présent document précise les méthodes d'essais à employer pour l'essai des matériaux d'isolation et de gainage polymère des câbles électriques et optiques pour la distribution d'énergie et les télécommunications, y compris les câbles à bord des navires et pour les applications offshore. Ces méthodes d'essais s'appliquent spécifiquement aux mélanges PE et PP, y compris les mélanges d'isolation cellulaire avec ou sans peau. Ce document entre dans le champ d'application de la Directive Basse Tension n° 73/23/CEE du 19/02/1973 modifiée par 93/68/CEE du 22/07/1993.
