Ce document définit les normes de fonctionnement et les essais de type des répondeurs radar maritimes utilisés pour les opérations de recherche et de sauvetage en mer (SAR). Il inclut les normes de fonctionnement des résolutions A530 et A697 de l'OMI, ainsi que les caractéristiques techniques contenues dans la Recommandation 628-1 du CCIR et tient compte des exigences de la résolution A694 de l'OMI.
