Il complète en fonction des unités assemblées les normes NF EN 848-1 "Toupies monobroche", NF EN 859 "Machines à dégauchir", NF EN 860 "Machines à raboter", NF EN 861 "Machines à dégauchir/raboter" et NF EN 1870-1 "Scies circulaires à table de menuisier". Il est destiné à donner présomption de conformité aux Directives "Machines" 98/37/CE et 2006/42/CE.
