Le présent document s'applique aux procédures de manipulation du SF6 lors de l'installation, de la mise en service, du fonctionnement normal ou anormal, et de l'élimination en fin de vie de l'appareillage à haute tension. Ces procédures sont considérées comme des exigences minimales pour garantir la sécurité du personnel travaillant avec du SF6 (voir Annexe B) et pour minimiser l'émission de SF6 vers l'environnement. Le présent document s'applique également de façon générale aux mélanges de gaz contenant du SF6. Les particularités de leur manipulation sont traitées en Annexe J.
