Microbiology of food, animal feed and water - Preparation, production, storage and performance testing of culture media
ISO 11133:2014 defines terms related to quality assurance of culture media and specifies the requirements for the preparation of culture media intended for the microbiological analysis of food, animal feed, and samples from the food or feed production environment as well as all kinds of water intended for consumption or used in food production. These requirements are applicable to all categories of culture media prepared for use in laboratories performing microbiological analyses.ISO 11133:2014 also sets criteria and describes methods for the performance testing of culture media. It applies to producers such as:commercial bodies producing and/or distributing ready-to-use or semi-finished reconstituted or dehydrated media;non-commercial bodies supplying media to third parties;microbiological laboratories preparing culture media for their own use.

ISO 11133:2014 also sets criteria and describes methods for the performance testing of culture media. It applies to producers such as:
- commercial bodies producing and/or distributing ready-to-use or semi-finished reconstituted or dehydrated media;
- non-commercial bodies supplying media to third parties;
- microbiological laboratories preparing culture media for their own use.
ISO/TS 11133-1:2009 provides the general terminology related to quality assurance and specifies the minimum requirements for the preparation of culture media to be used for the microbiological analysis of products intended for human consumption or animal feeding. It is also applicable to culture media to be used for the microbiological analysis of all kinds of water. These requirements are applicable to four categories of culture media used in laboratories that prepare and/or use culture media for performing microbiological analyses: commercially manufactured ready-to-use media; media to be remelted, supplemented and distributed; media prepared from commercially available dehydrated formulations; and media prepared from their individual components.
ISO/TS 11133-2:2003 sets criteria and methods for the performance testing of culture media. It applies to: commercial bodies producing and/or distributing ready-to-use or semi-finished reconstituted or dehydrated media to microbiological laboratories;non-commercial bodies supplying media to third parties;microbiological laboratories preparing culture media for their own use and evaluating the performance of these media.
Le présent amendement concerne la mise à jour des références normatives et de la bibliographie ainsi que le remplacement intégral de l'annexe B sur les micro-organismes pour essai recommandés pour les milieux de culture les plus usuels (fournissant des informations sur le milieu de culture, les conditions de culture, les micro-organismes pour essai, le numéro de collection des souches pour essai et les réactions attendues).
