Le présent document a pour principal objectif de donner des lignes directrices pour l'établissement d'une relation de conversion entre les résultats d'une méthode de routine et une méthode d'ancrage et sa vérification en vue de la mesure de la qualité bactériologique du lait. La conversion en microbiologie quantitative signifie l'expression, en unités d'une autre méthode, généralement une méthode de référence ou d'ancrage, du résultat d'une mesure quantitative de l'état bactériologique d'un échantillon pour essai obtenu en appliquant une méthode de routine. De ce fait, les résultats quantitatifs obtenus selon les méthodes de routine peuvent être comparés aux valeurs ou aux limites présentées dans les unités de la méthode de référence ou d'ancrage.
