Pour les chariots en service soumis au décret 89/78 mis en service d'octobre 1989 à janvier 1996 (levage de charges) à janvier 1997 (chariots à poste de conduite élevable) conformément au décret 98/1084, les documents de référence sont les fascicules de documentation FD H 96-301-1 et FD H 96-301-3 de 1999. Le présent document traite des prescriptions techniques qui ont pour but de minimiser les risques spécifiques qui peuvent se produire pendant l'utilisation normale et la maintenance des chariots de manutention automoteurs (y compris les chariots tout terrain) dont la capacité nominale est inférieure ou égale à 10 000 kg et des tracteurs dont l'effort nominal au crochet est inférieur ou égal à 20 000 N.
Le présent document s'applique aux chariots de manutention automoteurs (y compris les chariots tous terrains) dont la capacité nominale est inférieure ou égale à 10 000 kg et des tracteurs dont l'effort nominal au crochet est inférieur ou égal à 20 000 N. Il vient en complément de la NF EN 1726-1:1999. Il donne des prescriptions et une procédure d'essai sur les ceintures de sécurité avec leur structure de fixation destinées à la retenue de l'opérateur en cas de renversement des chariots industriels.
