La présente Norme internationale spécifie une méthode de détermination de la masse volumique conventionnelle dans l'air («poids du litre dans l'air») des corps gras d'origines animale et végétale (appelés ci-après corps gras), en vue de permettre la conversion des volumes en masses ou des masses en volumes. La méthode ne s'applique qu'aux corps gras à l'état liquide. Il convient que la température de détermination prévue pour tous les corps gras les empêche de donner des cristaux à cette température.
