Le présent document a pour objet la description d'une méthode d'obtention des différentes fractions pariétales des produits agricoles selon les méthodes initiés par VAN SOEST. L'intérêt de ces méthodes est d'isoler différentes fractions pariétales permettant de prédire la valeur énergétique des aliments. Cette méthode est d'application générale aux aliments simples et composés. Les traitements successifs aux détergents neutre et acide puis à l'acide sulfurique 72 % conduisent à l'obtention de trois résidus appelés : fibres au détergent neutre (NDF), fibres au détergent acide (ADF) et lignine sulfurique (ADL). Le NDF, l'ADF et l'ADL sont respectivement l'estimation des fibres totales insolubles, du complexe ligno-cellulosique et de la lignine.
